Buckelew Day 2005



Jamesburg celebrated its namesake's life and legacy in grand style at the Buckelew Mansion. Saturday, September 10, 2005 was Buckelew Day, an annual celebration held at the residence of Jamesburg's namesake, Mr. James Buckelew. Lakeview was open for tours, President Lincoln was on hand, a strolling banjo player performed and the Jamesburg Canon was fired during the Civil War Encampment, among many other events throughout the day. Highlights included the historic trolley tours of Jamesburg, guided by Jamesburg Historian Tom Bodall, a presentation by Al Platt on the Jersey Devil, and a presentation by the South Jersey Ghost Research Group.
