LOCAL EMERGENCY

The Deacons' Food Cupboard has run out of food supplies. The food bank has no food to serve families throughout Jamesburg and Monroe Township. The director is asking that anyone who can, please donate food. Food may be dropped off at the Jamesburg Borough Hall, 131 Perrineville Road and will be transported to the cupboard. The communities of Jamesburg and Monroe need to respond in this time of need.

Recently several people have started building projects in Jamesburg without the necessary permits. Of course I received calls and they had to stop, file for the necessary permits, and in one instance, a resident had to remove his new deck and rebuild it to meet the code. Much time and money is wasted when things like this occur and it is very simple to call me. I will be glad to meet with you and guide you through this process.

There is no charge for meeting with a resident and I welcome assisting residents. If a zoning permit is necessary I need the survey map that you received at the closing when you bought your house. The permit fees are very reasonable. Please feel welcome to contact me at Borough Hall at 732-521-2222 ext.105 from 8:30 A.M. until 4:00 P.M.

     Bernie Long,
     Jamesburg Borough Zoning Officer
